ITALY. Subalpine Republic. 5 Francs, L'AN-10 (1802). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder.
C-4; Mont-10; Gig-4. Although noted on the PCGS label and listed in the SCWC as from the Piedmont Republic (1798-99), this coin is actually a product of the Subalpine Republic ("GAULE SUBALPINE") of 1800-02. Both entities were puppet states of Napoleon, who annexed the region to France in 1802. This is a lovely example of a classic Italian crown. Bold strike with light attractive tone, strong underlying luster and quite good eye appeal. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder.
Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
