Dav-1577; KM-777; C-155a. A single year issue struck by occupying French forces after they landed at Lido on April 25, 1797. The Doge (Lodovico Manin) surrendered on May 12 and went into exile shortly thereafter. A coin from early in Napoleon's conquest of Europe, and highly desirable on a number of different levels. Weakly struck in the centers as usual, lightly toned. PCGS EF-40 Secure Holder.
