MEXICO. Roman Numeral Six Piece Set, 1882-83.
KM-392, 395 & 399. Housed in a custom plastic holder within a binder, with humorous misspelling of Numeral as "Mumeral". Includes one of each denomination (1 Centavo, 2 Centavo and 5 Centavo) for each date. Part of a failed coinage that saw a higher exchange rate within Mexico City than the outlying states, so merchants in Mexico City frequently pooled this type then drove out to a neighboring state to exchange them for profit. The 1883 5 Centavo was cleaned long ago now with lovely light blue tone amongst the devices. Other defects may be present. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. Overall a handsome set with an interesting story. UNCIRCULATED.
Estimate: $200.00- $300.00
