Newman 21-N. W-1540 (Rarity URS-8). NGC MS64 RB; attractive and fresh appearing; some evidence of die rust in the obverse field and at the first I in the III; a small dark stain at the front of the harp on the reverse. Photographed through plastic (light scratches visible in photo are in plastic, not coin).
The Newman piece (Stacks Ford sale, January 2005, N. 21-N: $1725 all in) "The obverse has about 45% mint red color showing while the reverse is about 85% bright red. There are some light flecks on the obverse, one particularly below 'X' in the legend. The surfaces are lightly granular." This piece compares favorably.
