Provenance: A Distinguished Collection of Roman Bronze Coins, the property of a Gentleman, DNW Auction 139, 15 February 2017, lot 77 [from Spink March 1939].
The ticket with the coin allies it to the Vautier and Spencer-Churchill collections, both sold by Jacob Hirsch, but examination of the plates in all the Ars Classica sale catalogues makes it clear that this coin did not feature in any Ars Classica auction
