Elagabalus. Æ (12.02 g), AD 218-222. Gadara in Decapolis, CY 281 (AD 217/8). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus right. Reverse: Jupiter seated left, holding thunderbolt and scepter, within tetrastyle temple with date (AΠC) in pediment. Spijkerman 77; Rosenberger 84; SNG ANS 1325. Pleasing contrasting earthen patina.
