Victorinus, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 269-271. Antoninianus (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.06 g, 11 h), a contemporary imitation from an irregular mint. VNP[..]HHIVRCLOVINT[...] (or similar) Radiate and cuirassed bust of Victorinus to right. Rev. INVICTVS Sol advancing left, raising right hand in salute and holding whip in left; to left, star. Cf. AGK (corr.) 94, Cunetio 2523 and Elmer 653 (for prototype). Very fine.
This curious imitation is certainly the work of two different die cutters, one of which must have been illiterate.
