The head of Domitian scraped in an intentional damnatio memoriae, otherwise, fine.


RPC notes that all surviving examples of this issue with a damnatio memoriae were previously countermarked. This example clearly was not, and Domitian's head was not erased but just scraped. It is therefore possible that this is a private rather than an 'official' damnatio.
