The reverse of this interesting issue commemorates the Isopythian Games held in honor of Asklepios Soter. These sacred games (IEPOΣ AΓΩN) are probably connected to Caracalla's trip to the East in 214/5 during which he sought healing from an unknown disease in several sanctuaries of Asklepios along his route.
