Portrait, left within circle / FELDSEKTIONSWETTSCHIESSEN // 300m 68p. Incuse engraved inscription to the prize winner above shield and between branches, all within circle. Awarded to Emil Weidmann, 1929 for 300 meters, 68 points. Includes original case. Housed in an oversized holder.

Colonel Johannes Stapfer was born in Horgen in 1809 and died there in 1886, at the age of 77. He held the rank of a Federal Colonel among the Zurich snipers. This elite group specialized in the Feldstutzer model 1851, and later with the Vetterlistutzer. Colonel Johannes Stapfer was an avid supporter of 'voluntary shooting'. In the years 1855-1858 he was president of the Cantonal, Zürcherischen Feldschützenverein.
