THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 450/40-420 BC. AR Drachm (16.5mm, 5.13 g, 12h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining bull left by band held around its head / Horse prancing left, trailing rein; [Λ]-ΑΡI above, ΣAIA below; all within incuse square. Cf. Lorber, Thessalian 42/47 (for obv. die/rev. type); cf. BCD Thessaly II 176; HGC 4, 420 var. (rev. horse right). VF, toned, granular surfaces, flaws on reverse.
