THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 450/40-420 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 5.96 g, 9h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining bull left by band held around its head / Horse prancing right; ΛΑΡ above, IΣΑI below; all within incuse square. Lorber, Thessalian 54 (same obv. die as illustration); BCD Thessaly II 171 var. (bull right); HGC 4, 420. Good VF, toned, rev. die break. Excellent metal quality.
