LYDIA, Sardis(?). Pseudo-autonomous issue. 2nd century AD. Æ (19mm, 4.59 g, 6h). [CAPΔI?]A-NΩN, youthful draped bust (of Senate?) left / CA[PΔI]ANΩN, Silenus seated right on wicker basket, holding infant Dionysus. Seemingly unpublished. Fine, dark green patina, a few cleaning marks.

The reverse type appears to be a characteristically Lydian one, known for Sardis (Antinoüs, RPC III 2408), Maeonia (pseudo-autonomous, RPC IV Online 1324), and Tmolus (pseudo-autonomous, RPC IV 1589). While the obverse and reverse legends are both frustratingly unclear, the reverse legend is perhaps slightly better preserved, with the faint traces of the letters seeming to comport with CAPΔIANΩN.
