CILICIA, Aegeae. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Æ (28mm, 13.77 g, 12h). Dated CY 87 (AD 40/1). Diademed and draped bust of male figure (Alexander III of Macedon?) right / Bare head of male figure (Julius Caesar?) right. SNG BN –; cf. SNG Levante 1691-2; RPC I 4036. Fine, green-brown patina, some encrustation. Extremely rare, only 3 specimens cited in RPC.

Although neither portrait is explicitly identified, they likely represent Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, the two "founders" of Aegeae.
