Bien que la frappe des écus se soit arrêtée en 1654 (hors Navarre et Béarn), l'atelier de Bayonne frappe exceptionnellement des écus datés de 1659 à l'occasion du mariage du Roi qui aura lieu non loin de là, à Saint-Jean de Luz en juin 1660. Although the minting of crowns was stopped in 1654 (except in Navarre and Bearn), the mint of Bayonne struck crowns in 1659 as an exception, on the occasion of the wedding of the King which took place not far from the mint in Saint-Jean de Luz in June of 1660.
