Antoninus Pius Æ31 of Pautalia, Thrace. AD 138-161. M. Pompeius Vopiscus, magistrate. AVT KAI T AI AΔPI ANTΩNINOC, laureate head right / HΓEM ΠOMΠЄI OVOΠЄICKOV ΠAVTAΛIΩTΩN, nude male figure (Apollo or Asclepius?) standing right, with drapery over shoulder, seen from behind, holding patera over column-altar around which is coiled a serpent. Unpublished in the standard references, including Ruzicka and Varbanov; for obv. cf. Ruzicka pl. 10, 1 and Varbanov 4379 (both same die). 18.66g, 31mm, 7h.

Good Very Fine. Unpublished. Reverse of high sculptural style.
