THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 450/40-420 BC. AR Drachm (18mm, 5.77 g, 4h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining bull right by band held around its head / ΛΑ/ΡIΣΑ (partially retrograde), horse prancing right within incuse square. Cf. Lorber, Thessalian 43/41 (for obv./rev. type); BCD Thessaly II 170 var. (ethnic); HGC 4, 414. Near VF, lightly toned, some porosity.
