LOCAL ISSUES, Tokharistan. Uncertain Ruler. Mid 6th-early 7th century. AR Drachm (29.5mm, 3.94 g, 3h). Imitating a drachm of the Sasanian king Kavād (Kavādh) I. Uncertain mint in Baktria or Zabulistan. Sasanian-style bust right, wearing Nezak-style crown; crescents in outer margins / Fire altar flanked by attendants; star and crescent flanking flames. Vondrovec [Göbl, Hunnen] Type 263. EF, toned, slightly crystallized surfaces, minor areas of weak strike and double strike. Rare in this condition.
