Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (22mm, 2.88 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck 1325-1328. Half-length figure of the Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls with four towers; flanking, K–X with triple pellets above each letter / Christ standing facing, blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX kneeling to either side. DOC 502; PCPC 185 (sigla 14); SB 2461. Good VF, lightly toned, typically clipped.
