Phoenicia, Uncertain, 227 - 226 BCrnAE18, 4.69 gramsrnObverse: Bearded male head right with uncertain object behind.rnReverse: Aradian date 33 to right, Astarte(?) standing left, draped, holding scpeter.rnHunterian pg 273, 4rnrnThe second known example, the only one outside a museum. It has been postulated that the city of issue for this coin was either Marathos or Simyra but of course it is impossible to determine with just two known examples. As an Aradian issue it can be possible that it was issued in Arados itself, but not likely due to an obviously small output from whatever mint was operating. In all likelihood it was from a small mint, whichever city, and certainly of very limited and small output. A true numismatic rarity.
