Sold with headed notepaper, 28 Hyde Park Gate, London SW7, typewritten "With Mr Churchill's Compliments." The recipient, Hugh Michael Seely, Lord Sherwood (1898-1970), was Liberal MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed and Under Secretary of State for Air in Churchill's coalition government. In 1946 he acquired, and became chairman of, the gunmaker James Purdey & Sons
