CHINA. Shansi Arsenal. Fen, Year 17 (1928). PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder.
12.1 gms. KM-Tn1; CCC-666; Duan-3468; CL-Unlisted. Tied for second finest certified at PCGS with one other example and only three finer (MS-63). Unusually heavy flan. Usual tiny circular punch mark on obverse and clover punch mark on reverse. The obverse is well struck while the reverse exhibits slight weakness directly at the center. Attractive mottled tone with a couple of dark spots. The last one we sold was an AU-58 (Hong Kong, April 2015, lot 11353). Unusually nice quality for this issue for any denomination from this series and as such a real treat for the specialist. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder.
