CL-ST.11; CCC-506; Duan-2530; W1172 (G-8); Y-221.1. VERY RARE. Four-petaled "comets" on obverse; tall Manchu characters on reverse. This variety is immediately identifiable by the die gouge below the right comet. Woodward (p. 130) comments regarding obverse G, "Generally a very well and deeply engraved die giving clear well raised impressions. A very rare die little employed." Reverse 8 was also combined with obverse H with Manchu characters in the center. Good strike with sign of wear consistent for the grade. Attractive chocolate and mocha patina in the open fields and hugging the devices complemented with a warm caramel atop of the devices. PCGS EF-45 Secure Holder.
