CHINA. Manchukuo. Tael, ND (1932). NGC EF Details--Rim Damage.
Fr-unlisted; L&M-1067; K-1595; WS-1346. This Manchukuo Tael was brought back after the end of WWII by Joseph Weatherly, a soldier with the U.S. Army, who landed near the city of Tacloban on the Island of Leyte, when General Douglas MacArthur returned to retake the Philippines in 1944. Mr. Weatherly commanded an artillery unit and was in the Philippines when the Japanese forces surrendered in 1945. Rim damage is minimal and the overall eye appeal is quite good.
