BURMA. Study Collection of Kyat, CS 1214 (1865).
KM-10; Robinson & Shaw-11.1A. Approximately 71 pieces in lot. An academic die variety study collection. Varieties include Robinson and Shaw reverse 1 (circle above retrograde "C" and figure "J" in line with dots), reverse 2 (Circle to side of retrograde "C" and figure "J" in line with dots) and reverse 3 (circle to side of retrograde "C" and figure "J" in line between retrograde "CCJ"(second character in inscription). There also includes a number of minor obverse varieties not mentioned by Robinson and Shaw mostly in relation to the spacing of the ground to the edge. An interesting gathering sure to excite the student of Burmese numismatics. Some have been cleaned, scratched, have encrustation and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. Retail value of about $5,000. Some with pretty tone. FINE to EXTREMELY FINE.
