MALAYA. Board of Commissioners of Currency Malaya. 1,000 Dollars, 1942 (1945). P-16s. Specimen. PCGS GSG Choice Uncirculated 64 Details. Hinged.
(KNB16) Specimen. A incredibly significant offering and the finest we have handled for this design in any form. The note is shown without price in the current SCWPM and listed as rare. Seen with the open style design that is familiar to all higher denomination notes of this 1942 series. Purple inks make up both the large "1000" counter at left and portrait vignette of KGVI at right. Nicely watermarked paper with Malaya twice at lower left and right and lions head at center within the watermark field. A "bowtie," style back design is seen in a deep purple with arms at left right and center. The note is free of any circulation although PCGS mentions "Hinged" in the comments section. The holder incorrectly labels the Pick Number as 156, when it is Pick 16s. PCGS GSG Choice Uncirculated 64 Details. Hinged.
Estimate: $40000.00- $50000.00
