This issued note shows with a diagonal red SWATOW MEXICAN DOLLARS overprint over the design for China's Pick S397. Red strike through at Shanghai branch name with overprinted "SWATOW," in black below. A rare design and only the second we have handled for the catalog number, with the last one in this grade fetching $11,400 in our January sale. Pleasing grade with sharp color and detail throughout. Facing Chinze at lower left and right center. A few trivial bits of handling are mentioned for accuracy. PMG notes Pinholes in the comments section but they are trivial in size, and noticed mostly only on the left side when held up against light. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
