Japanese soldier in combat gear facing away at center gazing at the island of Corregidor in distance with commemorative legend above; Reverse: Two palm trees with fronds at top, four stars at center and with a poem filling the fields, which Basso credits to General Homma. No sign of any undertype can be noted. Numerous contact marks in the fields of both sides. The edge rough and displays an assortment bumps and nicks. VERY FINE.
