PHILIPPINES. Japanese Occupation. Homma Medal in Silver with Loop, 1942.
35.4 mm; 18.80 gms. Barac-23; Basso-150. Plain edge with loop. These medals were struck by the occupying forces over old Philippine silver Peso coins, but no sign of any undertype is discernable. The obverse with a network of cracks, probably there from the time of striking, and now softened by many years of honest wear. Numerous contact marks in the fields of both sides. FINE.
