Early Anglo-Saxon England, eclectic phase (c. 710-760), base silver Sceat, saltire-standard issue, type 70, 1.04g, debased standard adorned with l motifs and annulet, over cross potent, rev. debased standard adorned with saltire with pellets in angles, a pellet also found in chevron (cf. P V Hill, Num. Chron XIII, 1953, type 70b; cf. Abramson P315/320; S.833B), the obverse slightly offstruck, otherwise about extremely fine.
