Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Penny, second issue, countermarked with silversmith's punch, 0.44g, m.m. martlet, crowned bust left, with decorated bodice, lozenge countermark before, inscribed dg, rev. square-topped shield over cross double-fourchée (N.1988; S.2558), ghosting to reverse corresponding with counterpunch, otherwise good very fine.
