Commonwealth (1649-60), Shilling, 1652, m.m. sun, 6.10g, reads common.wealth, no stop after england, shield of England within palm and laurel wreath, rev. no stops, conjoined shields of England and Ireland, mark of value above (ESC 110 {986G} [R3]; N.2724; S.3217), extremely fine, especially well struck on a round flan, fine work in appearance, iridescent toning over original surfaces on both sides. A stunning example and very rare.
