Commonwealth (1649-60), Shilling, 1657, m.m. sun, 5.92g, shield of England within palm and laurel wreath, rev. conjoined shields of England and Ireland, mark of value above (ESC 158 {996} [R5]; N.2724; S.3217), slightly uneven flan, very fine and toned, extremely rare and conceivably the finest known.
