Sasanian Kingdom. Hormizd II. A.D. 303-309. AR drachm (27 mm, 3.85 g, 3 h). Bust of Hormizd II right, wearing eagle crown with korymbos / Fire altar with ribbons and bust left in flames; flanked by two attendants, the left wearing winged crown with korymbos, the other wearing mural crown; two pellets on shaft of altar. SNS type Ia/3a; Göbl type Ia/1a; cf. Sunrise 815. Toned. Well centered and well struck. Very rare with two pellets on altar shaft. Extremely fine.
