Geta. As Caesar, A.D. 198-209. AR denarius (20 mm, 3.48 g, 12 h). Rome, under Septimius Severus and Caracalla, ca. A.D. 203-208. P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES, laureate and draped bust of Geta right / LIBERALI-TAS AVG VI, Liberalitas standing facing, head left, holding abacus and cornucopiae. RIC 44; BMC p. 245, note; RSC 69. Very rare mule. Extremely fine.

This denarius showing Geta as an older youth is paired with a reverse properly belonging to the coinage of his father, Septimius Serverus - thus, a mule. The type is well known, being catalogued in both RIC and RSC, with mention of it in BMC.
