Martina, Heraclius, and Heraclius Constantine standing facing, each holding globus cruciger / Large M; above, monogram; across field, date (A/N/N/O X/ЧI/II); Γ//KVΠP. DOC 185 (Cyprus); MIB 198a; SB 849 (Constantia in Cyprus?). Green patina with sandy-orange highlights. Very fine.

During Heraclius' eastern campaigns against the Persians in the 620s, disordered conditions led to the production of locally produced bronze imitations of the folles of Constantinople and Cyprus, such as the present specimen.
