MYSIA, Kyzikos. 3rd century BC. AR Tetradrachm (24mm, 12.82 g, 1h). Wreathed head of Kore Soteira left, hair in sphendone covered with a veil / Apollo, nude but for chlamys draped from his waist, seated left on omphalos, holding phiale, left arm resting on kithara seated on ground to right; to upper left, helmeted head of Athena left; scepter (or torch, or thymiaterion?) to lower left. Cf. Von Fritze II 28–32; Boston MFA –; SNG BN –; Traité –; CNG E-415, lot 205. VF, thick find patina, some scratches. Very rare variety, apparently unpublished with these control marks.
