Galba. AD 68-69. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.51 g, 6h). Spanish mint (Tarraco?). Struck circa April-late AD 68. SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG P M TR P, laureate head right, globe(?) at point of bust / DIVA AVGVSTA, Livia standing left, holding patera and scepter. RIC I – (cf. RIC I 55, aureus); CSB –; RSC –. Good Fine, toned, lamination flaw on obverse. Attractive style. Extremely rare and unpublished in the standard references.

The obverse legend was only used at the Spanish mint that the authors of RIC have tentatively identified as Tarraco, and the type is known for an aureus (RIC I 55), which has the 'normal' globe at the point of Galba's bust, otherwise it is very similar to this coin.
