As a result of the Austro-Hungarian compromise, ducats with changed iconography were minted from 1868 in Kremnitz. The portrait of the monarch was replaced by the standing figure of the Austrian Emperor in Hungarian mantle with the Hungarian Royal Crown on his head. On the reverse, there was a new Hungarian emblem, held on both sides by the angels. Latin descriptions have been replaced with Hungarian ones. In 1870 the Hungarian national emblem changed. Instead of the emblem with the angels, a new shield with the symbols of Hungary, Croatia, Slavonia, Dalmatia and Transylvania was placed on gold and silver coins. At the same time, the image of Franz Joseph I changed - the Kremnitz mint returned to the portrait depiction of the emperor. In the years 1868-1881, a total of 7 different mint dates of hungarian ducats were minted. Since 1882, the ducats have only been minted in the Vienna Mint, the Kremnitz Mint continued to specialize in minting of the the 4 Guldens and 8 Guldens.
