Dahl, conjoined busts of King and Queen Elizabeth to r., he in uniform with Orders and medals, she diademed, truncation engraved 'Paris Juillet 1938' and 'A. Dahl sculp.', 148mm. (unlisted by Brown, Eimer, Fearon and W&E), slightly spotted, otherwise very fine
The visit had been postponed from June to the 19th – 22nd July, following the death of the Queen's mother, the Countess of Strathmore. The cataloguers know of no other medals, British or French, that commemorated the event.
