c. 420-370 BC. Stater, 10.92g (5h). Obv: Two wrestlers confronted, grasping each other by the arms; to right, countermark. Rx: ΕΣΤFΕΔΙΙΥ Slinger, wearing short chiton, advancing right, about to discharge his sling; in right field, triskeles; all within dotted square frame. Cf. SNG Paris 53 (also with countermark). Ex Philip T. Ashton Collection. Ex Berk 106, 20 January 1999, lot 259. Countermark on edge of obverse. Slinger on reverser unusually well struck. Near Mint State.
