Quartet of Louis XV Sols (1/2 Sous Marqués),
1) 1739-A VF, Paris mint, KM501.1, Vlack-294. Second semester and the only date-mint combination of this type known as such. Dark gray with yellow traces at the periphery. A couple of small surface flaws. Rare. Ex. John Ford.
2) 1739-I VF, Limoges mint, KM Unlisted, Vlack-302, R8. Medium-gray with lighter patches. Ex. Robert Vlack collection (Stacks's auction Jan. 2008, lot 5403). Vlack plate coin.
3) 1739-P XF, Dijon mint, KM501.9, Vlack-309. Silver and brown with a few small verdigris spots on the reverse.
4) 1740-W VF, Lille mint, KM501.12, Vlack-316. A couple of scratches and a small verdigris spot on the rev.
