Quartet of Louis XV 2 Sols (Sous Marqués),
1) 1739-W VF, Lille mint, KM500.22, Vlack-200, R7. Even gray toning with a couple of small verdigris spots on the reverse. Ex. John Ford collection (Stack's Ford XII, Jan. 2006, lot 85).
2) 1739-W Fine Plus, Lille mint, KM500.22, Vlack-Unl, R8. Variety with a bar through the W mint mark. Gray obverse and gray and silver reverse.
3) 1739-& VF, Aix mint, KM500.27, Vlack-232, R8.
4) 1740-A VF, Paris mint, KM500.1, Vlack-19a. Second semester (dot under D of LUD). Severely cleaned in the past, with design weakness, especially on the reverse. Flashes of bright copper color appear at the edges.
