Louis XV. Pair of Franco-American Jetons 1751, Br-510,
Laureate bust, in cuirass with necktie & Order band diagonally across chest; low hair at temple, triangular space below Order band partly filled with one laurel spring, 3 points of leaves in the upper section, D.V. (for Jean Duvivier) below (Raymond Obverse H) / Indian woman with bow & quiver standing beside growing lilies, date below.
1) Copper, Lecompte-100. Plain, raw edge, coinage alignment, 28.9 mm, 6.86 gm. Trivial signs of die rust, primarily a dot on the King's neck above the necktie. Subtle reflective brown surfaces with blue and orange overtones. AU.
2) Silvered copper, Lecompte-99. Plain, raw edge, coinage alignment, 28.7 mm, 6.68 gm. Rust mark as on the previous piece. XF. Silvering worn through on high points, exposing the underlying copper. Flan defect, as made, that shows more on the reverse than the obverse, but still quite attractive.
