Louis XV. Pair of silver Franco-American Jetons,
1) 1752 AU, Br-Unl., Lecompte-112b var., silver, plain, raw edge, coinage alignment, 28.4 mm, 7.10 gm. Mule: Arms of the French West Indies Co., a crowned palm tree in a field of gold, Indian chiefs armed with clubs as supporters, broad scrolls beneath, the right of which has DV (for Jean Duvivier) (Raymond Obv. II). / Arms of the City of Nantes, a crowned shield bearing a ship, lilies above, date below. Light gray, with flashes of blue and gold in the periphery. As all examples of this mule we have seen are coinage alignment, we assume Lecompte attribution of medal alignment is in error.

Undraped bust right, with truncation line arching smoothly upward, hair flowing and filleted, FM (for François Marteau) below (Raymond Obv.
