Louis XV copper Franco-American Jeton 1756, Br-517 MS65 Red and Brown NGC, Lecompte-166 var., copper, plain, raw edge, coinage alignment, 28.9 mm, 7.09 gm. Laureate bust right, long, undraped neck, ribbon ends curve sharply, script M. (for François Marteau) (Raymond Obv. UL-4) / Bees swarming across ocean, from one hive to another, date below. The obverse is similar to Raymond Obv. P. One easy way to tell them apart is the ribbon ends; on Obv. P they curve smoothly upward and on the unlisted obverse they curve more sharply upward. Captivating piece, with considerable mint red encircling brown and blue central hues contributing to the eye appeal.
