Nova Scotia. Pair of TRADE & NAVIGATION Penny Tokens 1814, Breton-962,
1) XF, NS-20B1, Courteau-12. Engrailed edge, medal alignment, first 1 in date over 0, 15.72 gm. Dies by Thomas Halliday. Though this specimen is clearly not mint state, the grade is very high for the variety.
2) MS63 Brown NGC,NS20B3. Plain edge, coinage alignment, large 8 in date. 17.38 gm. From crudely-engraved, lightly rusted dies, inferior in style to the original Halliday issue, and clearly related to the 1838 British Guiana issues offered below. Glossy brown surfaces place this piece among the finest known.
