Nova Scotia.  Trio of Canada-Related Tokens 1838,
1)  PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER (obv.) Penny Token 1838 Unc., Br-967, NS-22, Courteau-14, 17.62 gm.   Unevenly toned.  From rusted dies.  The reverse is that of NS-20B3 with the date altered from 1814 to 1838.
2)  PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER (rev.) Stiver Token 1838 Unc., Br-Unl, Bowman 13, 15.85 gm.  Obverse 1.   Great eye appeal, the best example we've seen and far better than the well-circulated pieces usually encountered.  This and the next piece share the same reverse die as Br-967.
3)  PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER (rev.) Stiver Token 1838 VF, Br-Unl, Bowman 13, 15.17 gm.  Obverse 2.

All of these pieces were initially used in British Guiana, but some examples managed to enter Canada through trade.  Additionally, they were imported by collectors, on the basis of the TRADE & NAVIGATION legend.
