Nova Scotia. Pair of 1/2 Penny Tokens 1815, Including a Double Mint Error, 1) HOSTERMAN & ETTER 1/2 Penny Token 1815 XF, Br-883, NS-10B2, 6.38 gm. Unsashed windows (e.g., in the bottom story). This variety is much scarcer then the sashed windows variety and definitely worth more than the price in the Charlton catalog. Pleasing, even brown tone.
2) Double Mint Error HOSTERMAN & ETTER 1/2 Penny Token 1815 Unc., Br-883, NS-10B1, 5.80 gm. Sashed windows. Both an off-center strike (c. 60%) and an obverse brockage. Brown with patches of mint red and several small areas of verdigris. An amazing error - the first we've seen.
