Nova Scotia. Trio of Later Issues,
1) MS64 Red and Brown NGC. Victoria. Br-876, NS-5A1. Bronze, medal alignment, 7.85 gm. Considerable luster adorns this very pleasing example with great eye appeal.
2) MS62 Brown NGC. Victoria. Br-875, NS-6A2, Courteau-318, 15.32 gm. No L.C.W. below bust. Bronze, medal alignment. A die crack passes from the rear corner of the bust, through the colon, to the denticles.
We believe that only one obverse punch sank the dies for the penny business strikes and it bore the designer's initials. The initials gradually deteriorated as dies continued to be sunk. On some dies the L.C.W. is quite weak and can be easily missed, but on a single die (for Courteau-318) they seem to be completely missing.
3) Unc. Red and Brown, Br-900, TR-1.
